i miss old things.
this post doesnt even scratch the surface of what i think but i dont want to ramble for pages....
i think a lot of things are getting lost as we move on with technology. dont get me wrong i think there have been some great advances but its getting too much. why do we need to be able to get in touch with someone at the click of a button? in particular mobile phones and social networking sites- they are becoming more like mini computers. why would someone on a night out be updating their twitter/facebook/anything saying how much fun they are having when they are doing it? why bother telling people and miss out on having 1 more minute of fun? that and the fact its also a little rude to be typing away on a phone when you are in company. doesnt matter so much when you're in a group but the number of times i've been out with someone and they're constantly glued to their phone is ridiculous.
i also miss reading. since ive finished university there doesnt seem to be any time to read. or when i do i cant get stuck into a good book without my eyes getting tired. is there a way to train yourself to read again because i would like to know.
sometimes i wish i were living in the 80's.

“It has gotten to the point where my days, crammed with all sorts of activities, feel like an Olympic endurance event: the 'everydayathon'...I hear an invisible stopwatch ticking, even when I'm supposed to be having fun.” - Jay Walljasper, writer and speaker (1999)
